Holloways Beach is 19km north of Cairns.
There's not a lot of Holloways Beach accommodation to choose from, but the ones that are here are very nice.
Holloways is the second one of Cairns-Northern-Beaches but the first beach to offer holiday accommodation.
It's mostly residential, so you'll probably still see more locals than tourists, however it's becoming more popular with the opening of its only resort on the waterfront.
The only privately owned absolute beachfront restaurant and coffee shop are here. They're also both just over the road from the Resort.
The cafe is really pleasant for breakfast or just stop for a coffee. Sit outside with the waves almost at your feet, it's that close to the beach! All the tables and chairs have been uniquely hand carved from huge trees.
The Restaurant which is right next door, has indoor and outdoor dining. You can also request a table to be set up on the beach.
The beach is lovely and there's a stingernet here so you can swim in safety in the stinger season, which runs from about November to May/June.
The actual beach is much narrower than other some of the other Cairns-Northern-Beaches, so they were facing an erosion problem. Heaps of sand was dumped onto the beach to help and now you wouldn't even know there was a problem.
It's such a nice spot for a swim, take the dog for a walk, have a picnic or just fish from the beach.
If you like your independence, then definitely hire a car. Otherwise, the localSunbus company runs a regular service from Cairns, and goes to all the Northern Beaches.
Holloways Beach holds Markets on the foreshore, every 2nd Sunday of the month. You'll be sure to pick up a bargain or two.
The only beachfront accommodation at Holloways Beach is Cairns Beach Resort.
You'll find fully self contained holiday apartments here, so if you like to self cater, then this is a good choice.
The gardens are beautifully manicured and has a Balinese tropical theme blended in.
Cairns Beach Resort is excellent value for money.
Holloways Beach accommodation offers a something special with the Billabong Bed and Breakfast.
It's set back from the road and in amongst tall trees with the main feature being a lovely billabong, which is home to a variety of freshwater creatures.
This quiet little piece of paradise isn't far from the shops, restaurants or the lovely beach at Holloways.
Why not spoil yourself to some bnb weekends here? Because once you spend a weekend here, you'll be wanting to come back for more!
Behind the high gate, you'll find a tropical oasis. It's just down the road from the beach and you can hear the soothing waves from your room.
The rooms are fresh and clean and the furnishings are comfortable.
Breakfasts are scrumptious and you wouldn't find any better at any of the 5 star restaurants.
Rates are also very reasonable.
So have you chosen your Holloways Beach Accommodation?
We hope so...
