Linga Longa is one of those romantic restaurants that you can go to for full on romance or you can enjoy the antics of the General Manager and staff paying extra special attention to you.
It's small and intimate and the noise level is low. You can sit inside or out, but inside is my preference as it's air conditioned.
It's one of my favorite Cairns Restaurants.
It's a lovely little restaurant that won't be found if you're holidaying in Cairns and just wondering around the streets looking for somewhere to eat.
It's tucked away in the leafy suburb of Edge Hill and is close to the Cairns Botanic Gardens.
The first time we went, I had the Greek Feast which three courses of crispy whitebait, calamari, stuffed vine leaves, greek salad with dips and breads. Choice of baked lamb or fish. I chose the fish. Dessert was a Baklava Cigar, and it was gorgeous!!!
I would recommend this as the price was excellent value. David chose the Fillet Port Aux Champignon and him being a huge meat eater, he loves it cooked to the Chef's liking, which is medium rare. It was cooked to perfection!
The drinks are a little overpriced in my opinion, however the food was beautiful and the service was excellent. They were fun and very attentive, but not in your face.
We've been a couple of times since. Once with friends and our impression hasn't changed from the first night.
Highly recommended and one of our top restaurants in Cairns.
It's a little pricey, but hey, if you want quality, you have to pay for it.
The cuisine to me suggests a Greek Restaurant with International flavours, and a little bit of a French Restaurants class tossed in.
Elie Sopas, the General Manager is there to tend to you in front of house. He was a Chef for many years, so you can certainly see he still has his finger on the pulse. His staff are also very good.
They're open for lunch and dinner. Closed Mondays and Tuesdays.
