Palm Cove Shops

Palm Cove Queensland is Australia's spa capital, with its cosmopolitan atmosphere and World Class Accommodation, shops and restaurants and all at affordable prices.

It's 27km north of Cairns.

Accommodation here would have to be the most popular of all the Cairns-Northern-Beaches. There's all sorts of hotels, holiday homes, villas, BnB's and resorts all around Palm Cove, but they're mostly lined right along the length of the Esplanade.

This is the last of Cairns Northern Beaches.

This quaint little village has a beautiful beach, massive Melaleuca trees and a spectacular mountain backdrop.

It's famous for the Melaleuca's (or Paperbark trees), and they've been here for hundreds of years. They attract beautiful birds such as the colourful lorikeets, sunbirds and kingfishers.

Boutiques and restaurants line the beachfront with a couple of small convenience stores to buy all your necessities.

The laid back atmosphere makes it a really popular holiday destination.

Scouts Hat (which is aptly named) and the exclusive Double Island are only a short boat ride away and the views to these two islands is really lovely.

Pets are allowed on a leash at the northern section of the beach past the jetty and the southern section of the beach 200 metres south of Veivers Road. They're not allowed on the main part of the beach or in the stinger enclosures.

Sunbus Cairns travels regularly between each of the beaches, so you can jump on and off wherever you like. A great way to do a bit of cheap sightseeing.

Sea Temple Resort and Spa

Sea Temple Reception

The Sea Temple Palm Cove only walking distance from the main center and is right on the beach.

It's luxury accommodation at its finest, but don't be fooled, it's quite affordable.

Angsana Great Barrier Reef

Angsana Resort

Another one of the few Cairns resorts that boasts absolute beach front.

The accommodation here consists of one, two and three bedroom suites, all with spacious living and balconies overlooking the pool and Coral Sea.

Prices here are a bit steep, considering there are so many hotels in Palm Cove that are on the beach front.

Peppers Beach Club & Spa

Peppers Beach Club entrance

If you like a very large resort, then this is the type of beachfront accommodation you'd like.

We're not big fans of having lots of people around, however it looks pretty impressive.

Peppers Palm Cove offers a range of accommodation options, from elegant suites and spa rooms, to 1 and 2 bedroom penthouses with private rooftop terraces, BBQs and a plunge pool or Jacuzzi (Spa).

Alassio Palm Cove Hotel

Alassio Palm Cove Hotel

Alassio is located at the northern end and just across from the jetty.

The one, two and three bedroom apartments are spacious and with all the mod cons.

Built around ancient melaleuca trees, coconut palms and a lagoon pool, the Mediterranean style balconies overlook the pool and the beach.

We often come here to have lunch as it's prices are pretty good and the food is yum. We haven't been disappointed yet. The restaurant overlooks the pool from the back or the Coral Sea from the front.

There's also a couple of boutiques in the complex, so if you're like me, you can quickly go and try on some clothes while waiting for your meal.

Novotel Rockford Resort

Novotel Rockford Resort

Novotel Rockford Resort is spread over 45 hectares of land that showcases a 9 hole golf course, gym, swimming pools, squash and tennis courts.

These one and two bedroom apartments are beautifully decorated with the tropics in mind.

The views of the mountains are spectacular and if you want to relax and rejuvenate, this is the place to be.

It has 4 swimming pools including a lap pool and a restaurant and cafe.

What more would you want, except great service and they have that too.
